PALM BAY, Florida — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public information meeting regarding the planned improvements to Babcock Street (State Road (SR) 507) in Brevard County, Florida. The project begins at Malabar Road (SR 514) and extends north to Palm Bay Road (CR 516), a distance of approximately 2.5 miles.
The proposed improvements include widening to a six-lane, divided roadway and will include bicycle lanes and sidewalks. The design will also include a northbound bridge replacement and a southbound bridge widening over the Melbourne-Tillman Canal.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Captain’s House located at 1300 Bianca Drive NE in Palm Bay. The meeting is an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to present information to the public and to obtain comments about the proposed widening alternatives. The public can attend anytime during the open house to review project information and talk one-on-one with the design team.
