Merritt Island Man Killed In I-4 Crash

ORLANDO, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that 27-year-old Andrew Buonanni of Merritt Island, Florida died in an accident that occurred on I-4 near mile marker 72 at 12:32 a.m. Saturday morning.

Buonanni was in a 2003 GMC Envoy that was parked on the westbound right shoulder of I-4.  Meanwhile, Larry Alan Davis of Punta Gorda, Florida was driving a semi-truck westbound on I-4, in the outside lane.

According to FHP, Buonanni opened up the driver’s door and darted out in front of the semi-truck.


FHP troopers say that the semi-truck driver was unable to avoid a collision with Buonanni who was struck by the front of the semi.

The crash remains under investigation.
