Motorcyclist Killed In Cocoa Crash

COCOA, Florida — A 26-year-old Altamonte Springs, Florida woman has died from injuries she sustained in a vehicle accident that occurred just after 6 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of State Roads 520 and 524 near Cocoa, Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that 21-year-old Raven Glover of Orlando, Florida was driving a 2007 Hyundai Sonata eastbound on State Road 520 in the left turn lane.
Meanwhile, Ashley Sons was riding a 1986  Honda motorcycle westbound on State Road 520 in the outside lane approaching State Road 524.

According to FHP reports, Glover attempted to make a left turn onto State Road 524 and entered into the direct path of the motorcycle.  The right front of Sonata collided with the right side of the motorcycle. Sons was ejected off of the motorcycle and onto the north shoulder of State Road 520. 

Sons was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.


The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
