NASA’s Orion Roll Out Postponed

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Florida – NASA announced on Monday that Lockheed Martin and United Launch Alliance (ULA) have jointly decided to postpone the roll out of the Orion spacecraft from NASA Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Abort System Facility to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Space Launch Complex 37 by 24 hours.

The forecast on Florida’s Space Coast for Monday evening called for winds and lightning that violate the constraints established for safely moving the Orion capsue.  NASA said that the delay will not affect the planned launch of Orion atop a ULA Delta IV Heavy rocket on December 4, 2014 at 7:05 a.m. EST.
