COCOA BEACH and PORT CANAVERAL, Florida — Organizers with the 2015 “Thunder on Cocoa Beach” Super Boat race have announced that a third race has been added due to a high number of contestants entering the race this year. As a result, the start times for the Space Coast Super Boat races on Sunday, May 17, 2015, have changed.
The first super boat race will start at 11 a.m., with a second race at 1:15 p.m., and a third race at 2:30 p.m.
The race route starts at Shepard Park in Cocoa Beach and heads south for a first turn at Lori Wilson Park then back north for a second turn at The Cocoa Beach Pier, then back south for a finish at Shepard Park. The race can be viewed from any stretch of the beach between Lori Wilson Park and the Cocoa Beach Pier.
Lori Wilson Park will host the event. Event organizers will charge the public for parking at Lori Wilson Park this weekend.
