Deputies Search For West Melbourne Battery Suspect

WEST MELBOURNE, Florida – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of committing  aggravated battery in the parking lot of a Waffle House in West Melbourne, Florida.

Investigators say that an aggravated battery took place in a parking area at the Waffle House located at 4660 West New Haven Avenue in West Melbourne on August 29th at approximately 2:30 a.m.

An independent witness filmed the incident from inside the Waffle House with a smart phone. The white male pictured in the photo allegedly kicked and battered the victim which caused the victim to lose consciousness. Once unconscious, a second suspect, identified as 30-year-old John Keller of Palm Bay, Florida, allegedly got on top of the victim and severely battered him.

Due to the aggravated nature of this attack, the victim sustained multiple facial fractures and was transported to a local emergency trauma center in critical condition.
The subjects were known to have been at the Bare Assets adult night club earlier in the evening and are also known to frequent that location.
A third subject was identified as 23-year-old female, who is not being named at this time.

Keller has since been arrested for charges related to this case and an additional violation of probation. He is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail on a No Bond status.
