COCOA BEACH, Florida — Cocoa Beach police have made an arrest in an armed robbery of a hotel courier that occurred on June 24th, 2015 in the area of the Cocoa Beach Four Points by Sheraton hotel.
The victim, who is a courier for the hotel, reported to police that a black male approached him at his vehicle, brandished a handgun, and stole his backpack that contained an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police say that investigators later developed probable cause to prepare an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Luvern M. Harvey, of Merritt Island, Florida.
Harvey was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with: Robbery with a Firearm; Grand Theft; and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Harvey is being held at the Brevard County Correctional Facility in Sharpes on a “no bond” status.
