Cocoa Police Department Searching For Serial Hotel Robber


UPDATE: Brevard County Days Inn Robbery Suspect Arrested

COCOA, Florida — Cocoa Police Department detectives and patrol officers are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery of a Brevard County hotel that occurred on Friday morning.

Just after 10 a.m. on Friday November 27, 2015, a man entered a Days Inn Hotel located at at 5600 State Road 524 in Cocoa, Florida. The on duty desk clerk at the hotel told officers that a white male entered the lobby, threatened her with a gun, and demanded money. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect later fled in a vehicle.
Just prior to the reported armed robbery in Cocoa, the Cocoa Police Department received a bulletin from the Titusville Police Department about an similar incident that occurred in Titusville just before 10 a.m. As a result of the bulletin, police officers and sheriff’s deputies were in the area already searching for the suspect’s vehicle.

A short time later, a sheriff’s deputy located a vehicle matching the description at the Budget Inn on State Road 520 near I-95. Patrol officers then responded and found a woman inside room 222 who was later identified as the girlfriend of the suspect.

“She denied knowledge of the armed robbery and claims to not know where the suspect is,” said Sgt. Amy Moon. “We are continuing to investigate and are following up on several good leads.”

No one was injured during the armed robbery. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Central Florida CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and can be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 in this case.
