Overturned Gasoline Tanker Causes Road Closures In Palm Bay

UPDATE: Traffic is open on Malabar and Babcock in all directions with lane restrictions as cleanup continues.

PALM BAY, Florida – Malabar Road east of I-95 in Palm Bay, Florida will be completely shut down in both directions for at least 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., according to the Palm Bay Police Department.

The road closures are due to an overturned gasoline tanker truck that has forced authorities to shut down Malabar Road east of I-95 as well as Babcock Street south of Charles Boulevard NE, and Babcock Street north of Agora Circle. At this time there are no reported injuries.

Brevard County Fire Rescue and Palm Bay Fire Department crews are on scene to clean up the gasoline spill, brace the vehicle, and prevent combustion of the fuel.
