Skydiving, Surfing Santas Splash and Crash On Cocoa Beach
COCOA BEACH, Florida – For the seventh year in row, surfers donned red Santa Claus costumes and hit the waves off Cocoa Beach on Christmas Eve.
In addition to hundreds of surfing Santas, over 40 skydiving Santas landed on the beach with a few landing into crowds of spectators at the beach end of Minuteman Causeway.
The fundraising event organized by George Trosset has grown from hundreds to thousands of surfing Santas and spectators since 2009. The event raises money for the cancer support organization, Grind for Life, and the Florida Surf Museum.
Organizers are hoping that Guinness Book of World Records officials will eventually classify the most number of surfing Santas as a world record event.
