PALM BEACH, Florida – A Florida teenager has been charged with practicing medicine with out a license, a third degree felony, for allegedly operating a medical office and performing a medical exam on an undercover cop.
During the week of February 4, 2016, Palm Beach Narcotics Task Force (PBNTF) and the Florida Department of Health began investigating a complaint of a person practicing medicine without a license.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Malachi Love-Robinson had opened a medical office named ‘New Birth New Life Medical Center & Urgent Care’ at 4700 North Congress Avenue, Suite 303, in West Palm Beach, Florida and was presenting himself as a certified medical doctor.
The PBNTF and Florida Department of Health then conducted an undercover operation at the medical office. During this undercover operation, Love-Robinson allegedly performed a physical exam on an undercover agent and offered medical advice.
In addition to being arrested on the charge of practicing medicine without a license, the Florida Department of Health served a notice to cease and desist and issued Love-Robinson several citations.
Authorities say that Love-Robinson had also been investigated and cited by Department of Health for practicing medicine without a license just three months ago in October 2015.
