PORT CANAVERAL, Florida – The SpaceX Falcon 9 first stage rocket that made space history by successfully landing on the autonomous drone ship “Of Course I Still Love You” was towed into Port Canaveral, Florida by the Elsbeth III tug boat early Tuesday morning.
Scorch marks made by the spacecraft’s engines during re-entry and retro-fire prior during the landing could be seen along the sides of the first stage.
The CRS-8 mission also successfully delivered an inflatable habitat module along to the International Space Station along with other supplies and scientific equipment totalling 7,000 pounds.
