UPDATE: West Melbourne Police were able to speak with the father and later determined that he is not a threat.

WEST MELBOURNE, Florida – The West Melbourne Police Department is attempting to locate the father of one of the students that attends Imagine School located at 3355 Imagine Way in West Melbourne, Florida.
Just after 4 p.m. on Monday, the father arrived to pick up his child and was told that the school had not been notified that he was authorized to pick the child up.
“The mother failed to put him on the list. This enraged the father into making a scene and becoming trespassed from the school,” West Melbourne Police Sergeant Eric Rothery told Brevard Times.
The student’s mother contacted the West Melbourne Police Department to apologize for the misunderstanding involving her estranged husband and to report that he made comments threatening to do harm to the principal and possibly the school.
Acting out of an abundance of caution, the West Melbourne Police Department will have extra patrols on and around campus today. Police say that attempts to locate the father have been unsuccessful so far. No direct threats to the school or any school employee have been made to this point, police say.
