Cocoa Beach Pirate Fest Moving To New Location

COCOA BEACH, Florida — The popular Cocoa Beach Pirate Fest will not take place at the International Palms Resort in Cocoa Beach, Florida, in 2016.

Last year, the normally three-day pirate-themed event that featured treasure hunts, water cannon battles, black powder cannon demonstrations, live mermaids, and sword fighting, was reduced to one day. The reduction to one day caused the pirate ship pool to frequently reach capacity and created parking issues around the resort.

Organizers now plan to hold the event at the Raddison Resort at the Port Canaveral in 2017, according to the Cocoa Beach Pirate Fest website.
