The National Hurricane Center says that regardless of development, locally heavy rains are likely over portions of western Cuba, the Florida Keys, the Florida Peninsula, and the western Bahamas through Friday.

Showers and storms will continue to increase in coverage and move northeast through early Thursday afternoon, mainly south of a stalled frontal boundary stretching from north of Tampa to Cape Canaveral. Locally heavy rainfall amounts up to 2 to 3 inches will be possible with any slow moving storms, which could cause flooding of roadways and low lying areas. 

Additional storm threats include dangerous cloud to ground lightning and gusty winds up to 40 mph. A Flood Watch remains in effect for Osceola and southern Brevard Counties southward through Okeechobee County and the Treasure Coast.
