Brevard County Man Fails Florida Teacher Exam Three Times, Sues State

BREVARD COUNTY, Florida – A Brevard County man who failed the Florida Teacher Certification Exam three times has taken to Florida Department of Education to court, alleging that the testing is flawed.

Daryl Bryant, a physical education teacher for a charter school in Cocoa, Florida filed the challenge before the State of Florida Division of Administrative Hearings where he claims that the grading process administered by Pearson Education, Inc. is “invalid and has errors,” ABC Action News reported.
In 2013 and 2014, over 90% of aspiring teachers passed the essay portion of the exam. But that passing rate fell to 63% in 2015 and 69% in 2016.
