ORLANDO, Florida – A Brevard County man died as a result of injuries he sustained in a vehicle crash that occurred on State Road 528 (Beachline) near mile marker 27 at 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017.
29-year-old Andrew Polo, III, of Cocoa, Florida, was driving a Honda Pilot westbound in the left lane on State Road 528 when, for a reason unknown to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Honda traveled into the grassy median.
FHP says that Polo over-corrected, causing the Honda to travel across all of the westbound lanes and onto the right shoulder.
The Honda then traveled through a water-filled ditch, struck a tree, continued westbound and overturned before striking another tree.
24-year-old Christopher Cutright, of Titusville, Florida, was a passenger in the Honda who was killed as a result of the crash.
19-year-old Trevor Cutright, who was the only person in the vehicle wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center along with Polo who also suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
FHP has determined that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
