Las Vegas Shooter, Stephen Paddock, Worked For Lockheed Martin Predecessor, Lived In Florida

LAS VEGAS,  Nevada – Stephen Paddock, the gunman responsible for killing over 50 people and wounding over 400 at an outdoor country music festival with a barrage of bullets fired from a high-story floor at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, recently lived on Florida’s Space Coast.

According to Brevard County Clerk of Courts records, 64-year-old Paddock once lived in Heritage Isle, a 55-plus gated community located just north of Wickham Road in Viera, a community just north of Melbourne, Florida.

Land records show that the former Florida man purchased the home in April 2013 and sold the home in May 2015.

Paddock worked for Space Shuttle booster maker Morton-Thiokol, a predecessor company of the Lockheed Martin from 1985 to 1988.

Morton-Thiokol’s O-ring component on a booster rocket was later found to be at fault for the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986.

“We’re cooperating with authorities to answer questions they may have about Mr. Paddock and his time with the company,” Lockheed Martin spokesperson Bill Phelps said in a statement.

According to Nevada law enforcement officials, Paddock currently resided in Mesquite, Nevada.
