Florida Woman Stabs, Kills Co-Worker In Burger King Love Triangle

DELTONA, Florida – A Florida woman has been charged with second degree murder for allegedly stabbing a Burger King co-worker after becoming upset about his relationship with another co-worker at the fast food restaurant located at 2790 Elkcam Boulevard in Deland, Florida.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Samantha L. Bonilla of Deltona, was captured on Burger King surveillance video stabbing the victim, 29-year-old Justin D. Hooks of Spring Hill, Florida, around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.

The video shows Hooks and a friend sitting together outside the restaurant, playing cards at a table near the front doors. That’s when Bonilla showed up and engaged in a confrontation with Hooks.

After a brief scuffle, Bonilla moved toward Hooks with a knife pointed it at his face. Hooks then turned away and pushed Bonilla, who fell to the ground and dropped the knife. She got up, picked up the knife again, stabbed him, and left the scene.

Minutes later, Bonillar saw a Volusia County Sheriff’s Office vehicle and flashed her headlights to flag down the deputy. A witness also called 911 to report the stabbing.

Hooks was transported to Halifax Health hospital in Deltona where he was pronounced deceased around 3:25 a.m.
