VIDEO: Florida Woman Arrested For Shoving Dog In Car Trunk

MELBOURNE, Florida - A Florida woman was arrested for shoving a dog into the trunk of a car when the outside temperatures that day were in the 90’s on Thursday, August 22, 2019.

27-year-old Sara Perry, of Cocoa, Florida, took the dog to the Central Brevard Humane Society in Melbourne, Florida.

Perry went inside the shelter and asked the staff to take the dog or euthanize it.

But the staff declined because the shelter was full that day and Perry angrily returned to her car with the dog named ‘Neptune.’

Perry was then videotaped by shelter workers shoving the dog into the trunk of her car that was in the shelter’s parking lot.

Animal shelter workers then contacted the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office regarding the incident.

Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate and arrest Perry the same day and Neptune was transported to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Animal Care Center for evaluation.

A veteranarian conducted an evalution of Neptune and diagnosed that the dog was emaciated due to loss of muscle mass and protuding bone structure.

Perry was then arrested for animal cruelty and walked into the Brevard County Jail by Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey himself.

How many times do I have to tell you that if you abuse an animal in Brevard County you’re going straight to jail,” Ivey wrote in a Facebook post of a video showing Perry shoving the dog into the trunk and Ivey walking Perry to the Brevard County Jail.
