Palm Bay Motorcyclist Killed In Aurora Road Crash

MELBOURNE, Florida – A motorcyclist did not survive the injuries he sustained in a vehicle crash that occurred near the intersection of Aurora Road and Aurora Park Circle in Melbourne, Florida.

Around 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019, 68-year-old Barbara Bacon, of Melbourne, Florida, was driving a 2018 Toyota 4-door westbound on Aurora Road.

Meanwhile, 36-year-old Robert Oberle was riding on a 2009 Honda motorcycle eastbound on Aurora Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Bacon attempted to make a left turn to travel south onto Aurora Park Circle.

That’s when the front of the motorcycle struck the right side of the Toyota.

Bacon was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and alcohol was not a factor, according to FHP.

Oberle was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and a toxicology report is pending.

Oberle was transported to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office.
