Florida Man Arrested For Shoving Girlfriend Over Trump Impeachment Hearings

SARASOTA, Florida – A Florida man was arrested after he allegedly shoved his girlfriend to the ground during an argument over the Donald Trump impeachment hearings at their mobile home located just north of Sarasota, Florida.

Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies say that 62-year-old Ernest Ford got into a verbal dispute with his live-in girlfriend about U.S. President Donald Trump’s impeachment hearings around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019.

The girlfriend told deputies that the Florida man then retreated into the bedroom but continued the verbal argument.

The girlfriend then made her way to the rear of the residence to confront Ford and that is when he allegedly grabbed her by the shoulders and pushed her to the ground, according to the arrest affidavit.

Deputies note that the girlfriend suffered a scraped knee from the fall, the smokinggun.com reports.

Ford was charged with domestic violence battery and booked into the Manatee County Jail.

The Florida man was released after posting a $1,000 bond.
