Walt Disney World To Close All Stores And Hotels In Florida

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida – Walt Disney World announced just after midnight on Monday that the company will close all stores and hotels beginning at 5 PM on Friday, March 20, 2020, through the end of the month due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Disney Magical Express busses to Orlando International Airport will continue operations through March 20, 2020.

All other Disney transportation will cease operations on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

This is in addition to the closure of Disney theme parks, water parks, and cruises that started on March 16.

“Disney owned-and-operated hotels at Walt Disney World Resort and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort will close beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday, March 20 through the end of the month. This will give Guests the ability to make other arrangements,” Disney stated.

“At Disney Springs, we will be closing all Disney owned-and-operated locations beginning Tuesday, March 17 through the end of the month. Select restaurants and retail locations at Disney Springs may remain open and Guests should call the location they wish to visit for operating hours.”

The Walt Disney Company will pay its Cast Members during this closure period.

“We will continue to stay in close contact with appropriate officials and health experts,” Disney added.

“If needed, many reservations can be modified online via My Plans on Disneyworld.com. We appreciate your patience and consideration during this unprecedented time.”
