BREVARD COUNTY, Florida – The number of cases of coronavirus in Brevard County rose by 186 from 2,180 yesterday to 2,366 on Friday, July 3, 2020, the Florida Department of Health announced.

Brevard County’s overall case count has more than doubled by 1,448 cases in just the last 10 days.

Statewide, Florida added 9,488 cases since yesterday and now stands at 178,594.

The number of deaths also rose from 17 to 18. Three of those deaths were associated with long-term care facilities.

47,658 people in Brevard have tested negative and 2,366 positive to date. 5 are inconclusive. 2 are awaiting testing.

16 cases are non-residents.

The State of Florida does not publish the number of recovered coronavirus cases.

“I have asked the Department of Health to track and/or share statistics on “recovered” patients and was told that there are no plans to do that at present as they do not believe there is a standard method to determining “recovered,” Florida State Representative Randy Fine (R-Palm Bay) wrote on his Facebook page.
