COCOA BEACH, Florida – A Cape Canaveral man died from injuries he sustained in a vehicle crash involving an SUV and motorcycle that occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020, near the intersection of State Road A1A (North Atlantic Avenue) and Shepard Drive in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

According to Cocoa Beach Police, a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Matthew Longmire, 54, of Cape Canaveral, collided with a 2011 Honda CRV, operated by Margeurite Frederick, 58, also of Cape Canaveral.

Longmire was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. His next-of-kin has been notified.

The investigation is still active and ongoing.
