Nearly 11,000 FPL Customers Without Power In Florida

FPL Tropical Storm Nicole Power Outages Florida

ROYAL PALM BEACH, Florida – Florida Power & Light is reporting that over 10,930 customers are without power across the Sunshine State as Tropical Storm Nicole approaches the east coast of Florida as of 6:30 p.m.

The Florida counties in South Florida with the most amount of power outages are Palm Beach County 3,330, Miami-Dade County 2,150, and Broward 450.

Brevard County in Central Florida is also experiencing high power outages with 2,370.

St. John’s County in North Florida has the highest outages for the region with  1.230.

Tropical Storm Nicole’s winds near 70 mph are forecast to arrive on Florida’s east coast by 9 p.m.

“We’re responding to severe tropical weather from Nicole and are unable to provide a restoration estimate at this time,” FPL stated on its FPLMaps.com power outage website page.

“Rest assured, we will continue to restore outages, including in between the storm’s weather bands, as long as it is safe to do so. We ask for your patience. Please stay safe.”
