25 Florida Cities Ban Smoking On Beaches And Parks After State Legislation Passes

SARASOTA, Florida – Some Florida cities have banned smoking and vaping on public beaches and parks after the Legislature removed the State of Florida’s preemption right to regulate tobacco use on Florida’s beaches.

According to the Florida League of Cities, 25 cities have enacted vaping and smoking bans on public beaches and parks following the passage of HB 105 which was signed into law by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The cities were permitted to restrict smoking and vaping after the bill went into law on July 1, 2022.

The Florida League of Cities provided the following list of municipalities that have enacted smoking bans so far:
