Brevard Clerk of Court Recount, No Layoffs Anticipated

VIERA, Florida -- When asked for a comment regarding the recent request by Brevard County Clerk of Courts Mitch Needelman's Chief Deputy Sean Campbell for a hand recount after the Brevard County Primary Election Result Certification, former Brevard County Clerk of Court and current Clerk of Court--Elect Scott Ellis said, "They lost every precinct, the only comment I can think of is they must also be losing their minds."

Ellis beat Needelman by a margin of 60.75% to 39.24% in the Brevard County Clerk of Court Republican Primary.

Under Florida Election Laws, campaigns have the right to request a sample hand recount regardless of margin to ensure that the electronic tally is consistent with the physical ballots.

Brevard Times inquired, after business hours, to Sean Campbell for the reasoning behind the recount, but as of the publishing of this article, a response has not been forthcoming.

Coincidentally, around 1 p.m. today, Mr. Campbell's staff sent the following email to Brevard Times regarding an inquiry made back in March 2012:

"On March 21st, Chief Deputy Clerk Sean Campbell responded to your request regarding anticipated layoffs at the Brevard County Clerk of Courts due to State budget cuts.  At the time of Mr. Campbell’s reply, the Clerk was still evaluating options and considering the impact of certain variables.

Upon further review, the Clerk does not anticipate any layoffs through the end of his term in 2012."

  1. Ah, more hijinks by the Needelman Campaign. They just can't stand that they lost. They attempted to use all sorts of false allegations to win in the first place and when that didn't work, now they are trying to taint the win.

I said it before they lost, when they were alledging voter fraud that their ploy wouldn't work. Nor will this one.

Personally, I'm surprised that it was that close. I mean Scott Ellis did give Mitch the whopping he deserved but I guarantee you, had the write in candidate (another Needelman hijink) not disenfranchised about 200,000 voters independent and democratic voters, it would have been 80/20 instead of 60/40.

Get over it Needelman Camp. You lost. Don't continue to embarrass yourself in this manner. Try and maintain some dignity, if not for yourself, at least for your family members sake.

  3. Brenda, you spend way too much time posting your thoughts and feelings online. You were a nobody when you worked at the COC's office, and you're a nobody now. You seem to derive great pleasure from associating yourself with Scottie, etc. Get over yourself. What's even more pathetic, is you post your real name lol. I saw you out in public last week, what a JOKE!!!You're an embarrassment to the city and to your family, I'm sure. Do you really think Mitch Needelman and his crew care about you and your blogs? "I'm watching you Mitch" ooh, Brendie is so powerful in the community, we better be careful. God, how pathetic. BTW, it's MISS ANONYMOUS TO YOU.

    2. Man, as someone completely unrelated to the Brevard County Clerk, you sound so nasty! I'm glad I voted for Mr. Ellis. Anyone who actually thinks Mitch Needleman did a good job must have been paid by him. Why would he outsource employees to a company OUTSIDE OF BREVARD COUNTY?? The dumbest shit I've ever heard.

MISS ANONYMOUS, you are a terrible person, no wonder you're in the Needleman camp!

  4. Brenda, I agree with you that the election was too close. However, I think the Needelmen will continue to embarrass themselves, their families, and the clerk's office. It will all come out, including the "embarrassment" of indictments and prison time. I say, please allow them to embarrass themselves right into jail where they belong!

    1. Agreed Beth. I had hoped that they would go away quietly and perhaps learn from their mistakes but alas they don't appear to be able to do that. Truly doesn't surprise me.

When you think about how much the fantastic five is going to lose...well I believe that explains their desperation in wanting to pretend that it was anything but their fault.

I love the crow comment written below. You still got it!
