Palm Bay Police Search For Machete Attacker

Palm Bay, Fla. -- Detectives with the Palm Bay Police Major Case Unit are currently investigating an attempted homicide that occurred just after midnight Friday in the area of the Dr. Harvey Riley Avenue in Northeast Palm Bay.  

At 12:24 a.m. Friday, patrol officers responded to the area of 2197 Dr. Harvey Riley Avenue following a 911 call from a witness reporting a man had been attacked with a machete.  

When officers arrived they located a white male with serious injuries.  Palm Bay Fire-Rescue paramedics responded and treated the victim at the scene and he was later transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.  Detectives are currently following several leads in attempts to identify and locate a suspect.
