Brevard County School Board Keeps Early Start of The Year

VIERA, Florida  -- The School Board of Brevard County Public Schools unanimously voted 5 to 0 to keep the early school year schedule which begins a week and a half sooner than most school districts in Florida on August 8th rather then August 20th.

Brevard County Public Schools are given leeway by Tallahassee to start the school year early provided that the Brevard Schools remain a high performing school district.  If the school district loses that status, it would not be able to start the school year earlier.
