Dead Man Disovered At KSC

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Florida — Just after 2 p.m. today, a Brevard Achievement Center 50-year-old man working a custodian detail was discovered near a liquid oxygen tank on Kennedy Space Center Property at a decommissioned space shuttle launch facility. Responding Kennedy Space Center and Brevard County first-responders where unable to revive the man.


The death remains under investigation by local law enforcement, Kennedy Space Center security, and other Brevard County agencies.


“Sadly, we have been informed that one of our valued employees passed away today while working at Kennedy Space Center. We are deeply saddened by this news and would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to our valued team member’s family. We will provide further information about his untimely death once we are assured the family has been notified,” Brevard Achievement Center said in a press release.




According to KSC spokeswoman Candrea Thomas, the man was not under contract through one of the major infrastructure contractors, but employed via NASA through Brevard Achievement Center.



No further details are available pending an investigation.
